There is no such thing as a Mini or Maxi ISA any more - they have been changed to simply be an ISA - and you can have a Stocks and Shares ISA and a Cash ISA.

For those aged below 50 - the maximum available total allowance for 2009/10 is £7,200 which is fully flexible subject to a maximum of  £3,600 in the cash portion.

For those aged 50 and over, the maximum total allowance for 2009/10 will rise in October 2009 to £10,200 which is fully flexible subject to a maximum of £5,100 in the cash portion.

From 6th April 2010, the ISA allowance will be £10,200 (maximum £5,100 Cash) for all.
