There is no minimum investment for a dealing account, but you must have sufficient cleared funds to place any buy orders or to transfer any cash out of your account. (Please note that the estimated value of the order plus an additional 10% margin must be available in your account for US 'at best' buy orders. This is to avoid the possibility of your account going 'overdrawn' should the price increase rapidly.) Any recent sales/purchases of stock and money transfers are also taken into consideration when calculating your available balances.

To view your cash available, look at the 'available to invest' box which is located in the top right hand corner of the page underneath the tool bar. This shows any available funds you currently have available.  Please note that due to the UK and US having a number of different Bank Holidays, on these days settlement dates between the different markets may not match and you may not have funds from a sale made immediately available.

To sell shares through the Interactive Investor Share Dealing service you must first have the shares in your Interactive Investor Share Dealing Account, settled or unsettled. If in doubt, please look in 'My Holdings' within your Interactive Investor Share Dealing Account.
