We do not allow short selling. You must have sufficient shares in your Interactive Investor Share Dealing Account in order to execute any sell orders including those executed under a TradePlan.

However, you can place a TradePlan order to sell shares through Interactive Investor Share Dealing Service without having the stock available. This allows the possibility of future purchases clearing before your price criteria are met and the order executed. Please note that if the stock is not available at the moment the price criteria are met, then the execution will fail and any TradePlan orders will be cancelled.

If in doubt, please check your share holdings within the "My Holdings" section of the Interactive Investor Share Dealing Trading Application.
