ISA stands for Individual Savings Account. ISAs are investment savings account with a tax efficient wrapper. The word 'wrapper' refers to the rules which provide the tax protection to the investments held in the account. The ISA account itself is not an investment, it is simply the means to hold the underlying investments in a tax efficient way. Currently within our Interactive Investor Self-select ISA, you will be able to hold all eligible listed shares (shares listed on AIM are not eligible to be held within an ISA) and eligible investment trusts as well as Bonds, Gilts, Funds (Unit trusts and OEICs) and Cash pending investment.
