Whilst no documentation is requested when applying for an account, we do carry out an Experian credit check for all UK applications. Should the result show adverse credit history; we would be unable to open an account.
Anti-Money Laundering Checks
Please note that if you intend to deposit cumulatively £10,000 or more (or the equivalent in another currency) into your Interactive Investor Spread Betting account, the following procedure will take place:
- We will carry out a further Experian Money Laundering Search, which is in accordance with the new Prevention of Money Laundering Guidance Notes. As long as result is satisfactory you will not be asked for any supporting documentation, however if the result is below the accepted benchmark score you would be asked for certified* copies of the following documentation (one from each section):
1. Evidence of Identity (one of the following) |
2. Evidence of Address (one of the following) |
- Current signed passport
- UK/EU photo driving licence
|
- Utility bill (excluding mobile telephone bills and not more than 3 months' old)
- UK/EU photo driving licence (if not used in (1))

| * Copies must be dated and signed "original seen". |
Certification may be carried out by one of the following:
UK: Notaries, solicitors, banks and UK government departments, Financial institutions and other persons and firms who are subject to the UK Money Laundering Regulations 2003.
These documents should be sent in advance as on reaching the £10,000 threshold your ccount would be placed automaticlly on closing orders only and any outgoing payments from your account would be restricted.
Also if we do not receive the documentation within 5 days of your account reaching this £10,000 threshold, or if your evidence of identification and residence does not meet UK regulatory standards, we may be forced to close your account and take other action.
