Internet Explorer 6

With a single Internet Explorer window open and the loaded page not set to the Interactive Investor Spread Betting website, perform the following to return your Internet Explorer browser to default settings:

  1. From the menu at the top, select 'Tools > Internet Options'
  2. Select the 'Advanced' tab and click the 'Restore Defaults' button on the lower right. Click 'Apply'.
  3. Select the 'Privacy' tab and ensure that the level is set to either 'Medium', 'Low' or 'Accept All Cookies' as opposed to 'Custom Level' - this can be done by clicking the 'Default' button.
  4. Select the 'Security' tab and ensure that the security level for the Internet zone is set to medium, which can be done by clicking the 'Default Level' button on the lower right of the pane. Click 'Apply'.
  5. Select the 'General' tab. In the 'Temporary Internet Files' section click the 'Settings' button. This will open a smaller window entitled 'Settings'. You should ensure that under the heading 'Check for newer versions of stored pages', 'Automatically' is selected. Click 'Ok'. In the 'Temporary Internet Files' section click 'Delete Files'. In the window that opens put a tick in the box 'Delete all offline content' and select 'Ok'. In the 'Temporary Internet Files' section click 'Delete Cookies' and click 'Ok' in the next dialogue box.
  6. Finally, click 'Ok' to close the 'Internet Options' window. Close all browser windows and any other java related programs before opening Internet Explorer again and navigating back to the Interactive Investor Spread Betting website.

Netscape Navigator 7.0

With a single Netscape Navigator window open and the loaded page not set to the Interactive Investor Spread Betting website, perform the following to return your Netscape Navigator browser to default settings:

  1. From the menu at the top, select 'Edit > Preferences'
  2. Under the 'Category' heading, click to expand the 'Privacy & Security' option
  3. Select the sub-heading of 'Cookies' and ensure that either 'Enable all cookies' is selected or 'Enable cookies based on privacy settings' with the privacy level set to 'Medium' is selected
  4. Select the sub-heading of 'SSL' and ensure that under 'SSL Protocol Versions' on the right you have all three boxes relating to SSL Versions 2 & 3 and TLS ticked.
  5. Under the 'Category' heading, click to expand the 'Advanced' option
  6. Select the sub-heading of 'Scripts & Plugins' and ensure that on the right hand side JavaScript is enabled for Navigator, with all options below selected
  7. Select the sub-heading of 'Cache' and ensure that on the right hand side under the heading 'Compare the page in the cache to the page on the network', you have selected either the option 'When the page is out of date' or the option 'Every time I view the page'
  8. With the sub-heading of 'Cache' still selected, click the option to 'Clear Disk Cache' and then click the option to 'Clear Memory Cache'
  9. Finally, close the 'Preferences' window by clicking 'OK'. Close all browser windows and any other java related programs before opening Netscape Navigator again and navigating back to the Interactive Investor Spread Betting website.
