Each day the trustees work out the value of the trust (i.e. value of underlying assets less any costs). They then divide it by the number of units in issue to give the offer (selling) price. They then factor in an initial set up charge to arrive at a bid (purchase) price. When you invest, you usually never know the price you will be charged for units until the next valuation point which is usually midday the following day. This may vary between fund providers.
