Each day the fund managers work out the value of the assets of the company less the liabilities. They then divide it by the number of shares in issue to give the price per share. The initial charge is quoted separately. When you invest, you usually never know the price you will be charged for units until the next valuation point which is usually midday the following day. This may vary between fund providers.
